ABOUT US

P3 Media | The 3 Ps of Filmmaking

P3 Media really cares about helping kids who might not have as much as others. We focus on making a big difference in the lives of kids from 12 to 18 years old who don't have a lot of opportunities, by providing them with the knowledge and skills to embark on the journey of filmmaking. We dream of a world where every young person, no matter where they come from, can be a creator, a storyteller, and someone whose voice is heard in the big world of media.

P3 Media is not just an organization; it's a community that believes in the potential of every young individual we serve. With warmth, dedication, and unwavering support, we embark on a journey of transformation. Through the art of filmmaking, we nurture dreams, ignite creativity, and amplify voices that deserve to be heard. Join us as we pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive, and empowered future.

Pre-Production

Pre-production is the first part of making a movie or TV show. It's when all the planning and preparation happens before the actual filming begins. If you were going to bake cookies, pre-production is like deciding on the cookie type, gathering ingredients, and setting up your kitchen. In moviemaking, it's when people decide what the story will be about, who will be in it, and how everything will look. So, pre-production is about organizing everything before filming starts.

Production

Production is the stage where all the plans made in pre-production are put into action. It's the time when things are actually being filmed or recorded. Like baking cookies, during production, it's time to actually mix the ingredients, put the cookies in the oven, and watch them bake. Now, in production, it's when the cameras are on, recording the actors in their roles, and creating the actual scenes that will be part of the finished video. It's the exciting part where everything we talked about in the planning stage (pre-production) is happening for real, and we capture it on camera. That's production!

Post-Production

Post-production is the stage that comes after filming or recording. During this stage, all the footage that was captured in production is edited. Like baking cookies, the production steps are like adding the finishing touches to make the cookies even more delicious. This might involve decorating the cookies with icing, adding sprinkles, or arranging them nicely on a plate. Similarly, in post-production for a movie or video, editors work on adding special effects, adjusting colors, putting in music, and making sure everything looks polished before presenting the final product to the audience. So, just as post-production enhances the cookies' appearance and taste, it enhances the overall quality of a film or video.

WE PROVIDE

Mentorship

Since 2020, more young people have been spending 50 to 75% more time with media. Sadly, some of the media can make them feel not so great about themselves. It might even make them feel sad, worried, or really down. We want to help and find ways to make the media world a better place for everyone, where everyone feels good and strong inside.

Skill Development

We show various ways filmmaking is use in the world of media. By providing hands-on training for youths. Like teaching them how to shoot commercials, podcasts, interviews, product promotions, edit wedding and events, just to name a few. And how these particular skills (they will learned) can land them opportunities that can change their lives financially and socially.

Filmmaking Education

Filmmaking is the process of creating films or videos, involving various stages like planning, filming, and editing to tell a story or convey a message. By engaging in filmmaking, African American youths can explore and pursue careers in an industry that continues to grow, offering opportunities for personal and professional development.
